Expanding Access to Small Dollar Loans for Low- and Moderate-Income Consumers in the Central Valley

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation is convening an "Expanding Access to Small Dollar Loans for Low- and Moderate-Income Consumers in the Central Valley" webinar on August 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PT.

Many communities in the Central Valley lack access to responsible consumer credit due to cultural and geographic barriers, and instead rely upon high cost alternative lenders. This webinar will highlight effective strategies to increase consumer credit and financial capability through partnerships among financial institutions, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), and non-profits. Additionally, bankers will learn how to offer small dollar loans (SDLs) through core technology as several new small dollar loan products have emerged.

The target audience includes community stakeholders such as CDFIs, non-profit organizations, bankers (product managers, compliance officers, CRA Officers, community development managers/directors), and government agencies seeking alternative credit access options for underserved communities.

GRANT DETAILS HERE

Dear Fresno CEDP Housing Leadership Workgroup,
Metro/BBCDC has obtained a grant from Regenerate California Innovation (RCI) to help fund up to an approximate $8,000 MBA Study cost - with a matching contribution to cost by the CSUF Gazarian Real Estate Center as well - that can involve Fresno CEDP members in providing key inputs into and feedback about local aspiring developer program needs.
If you have interest - I will need any written suggestions you may have about draft scope of work attached and embedded below by Wednesday July 13th to vet with CSUF MBA Project Office before sending to prospective MBA Student participants. There are limitations as to how much MBA students can do with time allotted in one semester - but it would be great to hear early from you with any ideas/perspectives you may have so they are considered.
Any interested CEDP Housing Leaders will be invited to participate in check-in/progress meetings with MBA Students likely scheduled every two weeks throughout the semester to help keep project moving forward and toward achieving the project study scope with consistent local input.

Best Regards,
Keith Bergthold
