The Push and Pull of Alternative Pathways to Affordable Homeownership Webinar
August 10 at 12 PM
Homeownership is a critical wealth-building tool, but not everyone has an equitable opportunity to become a homeowner. Approximately one in five borrowers—about 36 million Americans—has used alternative financing instead of a traditional mortgage. These include land contracts, lease-purchase options, seller-financed mortgages, and personal property or chattel loans. Alternative financing arrangements typically cost more and carry fewer protections than mortgages, which are buoyed by tax incentives and strong public policy.

Route to Parks
Parks California
Deadline: Aug 5, 2022
|
Parks California
The Route to Parks grants program is focused on providing experiences in State Parks to underrepresented communities. Studies have shown that communities of color continuously have unequal transit access to large public green spaces (1). For example, in Los Angeles, 41% of lower-income households do not have immediate access to a park, and many large regional parks, including state parks, do not have direct transit line access (2). By supporting local organizations that are addressing the physical and mental barriers to access that park-poor communities face, we collectively support communities in their personal journey to connecting with the outdoors.
