AHEAD Grants
When multiple generations can move together, it creates an enhanced sense of togetherness and belonging amongst participants and provides an opportunity for them to better relate to and learn from AHEAD applications can only be submitted by member bank (CVCB) working in partnership with local nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and Tribal organizations targeting economic development projects.
Projects receiving AHEAD funding must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- create or retain jobs that have annual salaries at or below HUD area median income (AMI): 100% AMI in urban areas or 115% AMI in rural areas;
- benefit or provide services to households at or below HUD AMI: 100% AMI in urban areas or 115% AMI in rural areas; or
- provide services or benefits to the community; for examples, Poverello House, Naomi’s House, Placer Food Bank, Central California Food Bank, etc.

New Earth Foundation (NEF)

New Earth Foundation
Funding is intended to support projects in many fields of interest, including but not limited to, community efforts that create models of social sustainability, educational innovations that prepare youth to become the socially responsible leaders of the future, and strategies that offer economic improvement and opportunities.
Smaller, newer nonprofits are the focus of grants given, so that the Foundation’s gift can make a more significant contribution to the work of the recipient organization.
NEF particularly appreciates projects that are replicable so that excellent ideas and work can multiply and benefit many.
NEF may consider community housing, after school programs, children, youth, summer camps or garden programs that are significantly innovative, transformative and effective.

Move Together
When multiple generations can move together, it creates an enhanced sense of togetherness and belonging amongst participants and provides an opportunity for them to better relate to and learn from one another.
Eligible applicants must demonstrate that their program meets the following criteria:
- Offers existing programming elements or has the ability to develop new programming or enhancements that promote multigenerational connection* between girls and women
- Delivers and provides access to sport, fitness or movement-based programming as a primary focus, serving predominately girls and/or women
- Displays innovation in its efforts to engage girls and women, creating an environment that inspires
- Takes a holistic approach to programming that considers physical, mental, social and/or emotional needs of the girls and women who participate
- Has the ability to sustain long-term programming after the life of the funding has expired

Projects to Promote Health Equity
This year, organizations can apply for general operating support up to $50,000 USD, or up to 40% of their operating budget. We’re also expanding the scope of the Here to Be grant program to provide resources to organizations focused on improving wellbeing outcomes for their communities through practices of movement, mindfulness, and/or connection.
Grant recipients help advance equity in wellbeing in various ways, including and not limited to:
- Providing inclusive, culturally intelligent programs and services to their communities
- Advocating for systemic change
- Removing barriers to accessing wellbeing practices, such as creating financial accessibility
- Building community and connection

Better Blackstone || Summer Community Engagement Opportunity
Want a summer job with meaningful work?
Better Blackstone (under Fresno Metro Ministry) is currently looking to hire three part time outreach workers, from June 1 to July 29 (2022). Outreach workers will engage community engagement work 30 hours a week, at $20 per hour, helping the Better Blackstone project manager gather residents from the Blackstone area into neighborhood groups who will be trained and coached in advocating for their communities together. This is a great opportunity for students majoring in sociology, social work, ministry, and other majors related social change and movement making.
